Camping in Namibia at Klein-Aus Vista
Camping in Namibia is all about wide-open spaces and big clear skies, and Klein-Aus Vista is one of the best places to take advantage of these aspects.
The arid landscapes of Aus are the home of the enigmatic wild horses of Namibia and are at once desolate and mystically beautiful. There’s no better way to embrace these truly rugged landscapes than by pitching your tent at the Desert Horse Campsite.
Desert Horse Campsite is located just 2 kilometers from the Desert Horse Inn in the south-western reaches of Namibia. The camp nestles in a small valley surrounded by the Aus Mountains that is dotted with desert-adapted grasses and undulating land that is ripe for exploring. You’ll find this tranquil escape about 6 hours’ drive from Windhoek, 122km from Lüderitz. Importantly, the Garub water hole, where the wild horses of Namibia gather, is only 20km away.

There is no electricity on site which allows for a truly immersive experience while camping out at Desert Horse Campsite.
If you need to charge your camera or other electronic devices, you may do so at the Desert Horse Inn just 1.5km away. You can also make use of the restaurant, bar and swimming pool located at the Inn.
